Ceramide

Ceramide is a fatty substance naturally present in the outermost layer of skin that helps keep moisture from escaping and keeps the skin's protective barrier intact.

Picture skin as a brick wall, where skin cells are the bricks and ceramide works like the mortar holding them together. In Korea, skincare brands have recently rolled out new ceramide-focused lines for both face and body, alongside technology meant to help the ingredient absorb more effectively into skin. Containing ceramide does not mean a product solves every skin concern, so anyone with severe dryness or a skin condition should check with a dermatologist before relying on it.
